Looking For A Little Easter "Hoppiness"

Yeah, I know it's corny. My only excuse is that a bit of springtime giddiness must be affecting me. Because, spring truly is right around the corner! And while young or old, big or small we all get excited about Easter, there are hundreds of families in our community who will not be able to afford the small joys of this glorious holiday. While many of us celebrate a deeply profound spiritual season, we also enjoy the more frivolous aspects as well.

Who doesn't remember their Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets and that wonderful Easter family dinner? PTF wants to help those families who are coming to us for assistance enjoy this holiday. It is especially important that we have the means to share the happiness of the holiday with the children. Additionally, we have committed to help The Denver Inner City Parish with their Easter program. There are so many families suffering in their area and they struggle each year with being able to have sufficient baskets for their families.

Won't you help? The communities that support PTF have always responded with such generosity we know that we can do it! We can have what we need for PTF families and help Denver Inner City Parish as well.

So round up the gang and throw a "Let's make Easter Baskets" party. Easter is just around the corner. Get hopping! Thank you.

Here's How and Answers to Your Most Pressing Questions:

Q. How do I reach PTF?
A. Please call us at 303-841-3460. PTF is open Tuesday - Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. PTF is located in the old Town Hall building, 20118 East Mainstreet.  We are in the back in the walk out basement area.
Google™ Map

Q. When should the baskets be delivered?
A. Preferably, we would like the baskets delivered to PTF no later than Saturday, March 27th. These baskets will be passed out over the week leading up to Easter and hopefully we will have an abundance that can be shared with Denver Inner City Parish.

Q. What goes in a basket?
A. You can use your creativity and imagination here. The goal is to bring a smile to a small child's face. We would recommend a small stuffed toy, a bit of candy, perhaps some flash cards, a small book or other fun "kid stuff" like stickers, puzzle books etc.

Q. What if I want to donate a basket for an Easter Dinner?
A. That would be lovely as well. The focus is primarily on the children this time however. (Thanksgiving is when we focus primarily on the family meal. Of course, our families shop for their dinner in our food bank and we try to have a nice variety of "goodies" for them to choose from.)

Q. Can I donate money or purchase a basket?
A. Of course! There are many ways to donate money to PTF. One of them is via Pay Pal right here on the web site.

If you have other questions - just give us a call. Thanks again for all of your wonderful help and support!

PTF 2010 Golf Tournament
Monday, June 7th at the Spring Valley Golf Club

The Parker Task Force is planning their second annual golf tournament to help raise money to continue the vital work they do in the community. This 100% volunteer organization has been in operation for over twenty years. With the kind assistance of the Town of Parker, that donates space, maintenance and utilities, PTF is able to keep overhead at an absolute minimum.

Because our business is booming and the growth in the town continues to escalate, space is at a premium. It won’t be long before PTF will have to find a new home. We are working in collaboration with the town to make this a reality. This means that for the first time in its history, PTF needs a Capital Campaign. This golf fundraiser will go a long way to help us fill the coffers.

Please gather up your family and friends and join us in our efforts to remain in a viable position to continue to help those in our community who need us so desperately now and in the future. This is a feel good win win opportunity for us all. You’ll have fun, access to great golfing, prizes and a relaxing luncheon. And while all of that is going on, your heart will know that many others will "win" right along with you. Because they will be able to feed their families, stay in their home, use running water or turn on the heat and electricity now and in the years to come. What a wonderful way to spend a day. Foursome anyone?

We truly hope you will all "give PTF a swing" and participate and do what you can to help us make this event a success:

GOLFERS: $125 per golfer or $500 per team

PTF Needs An AED – Can You Help?

Its hard work around here and it never seems to end. And, while it is not always polite to mention a person’s age, some of us aren’t getting any younger. As we all know from reading recent headlines, lives can be saved when there is an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to help those experiencing a heart attack. AED’s keep people alive until emergency personal can arrive at the scene to provide the needed care.

Unfortunately, the AED units are extremely expensive and PTF doesn’t have the funds needed to make this much needed purchase. Your donation to this fund, or a donation of the unit would be an awesome gift of life for PTF.

Thank you for your consideration and help.

We Are Taking Donations Of Old Cell Phones

If you have some old cell phones, bring them to the Parker Task Force locations. The Task Force will recycle these old working and broken phones and turn them into much needed funds to help our neighbors in need from every neighborhood in Parker.  In this struggling economy, the need for food and financial assistance has risen and we can all help.

Share this message with everyone, collect from your neighbors or at work. This is an easy way to help and clear out some drawer space at the same time!  Early or late donations will always be taken at the Parker Task Force.   Questions?.....call 303-841-3460.

Do You Buy or Sell Items On eBay?

Did you know when you sell on eBay you can donate a portion of your proceeds to The Parker Task Force?  You can, eBay has a dedicated program for charity listings where you can donate a portion of your proceeds to the Parker Task Force. More Information.

The next 9 Cares/Colorado Shares food drive will be
