The next 9Cares/Colorado Shares drive will be
 Saturday June 15th, 2013

   The collection sites for the Parker Food Bank will be:

Parker Task Force (Food Bank) - 20118 East Main Street in Parker.
Dollar Tree - Parker
Kings Soopers - Stroh Ranch.
Kings Soopers - Stonegate.
Safeway - Parker
Wal-Mart - Parker.

   Both individuals and groups are able to make donations at the Parker Task Force location for this year's food drives.

   Channel 9, in partnership with King Soopers, sponsors the 9Cares Colorado Shares food drive twice each year. The summer drive was held Saturday, June 18th. It coincides nicely with the food drive that PTF does each month – and it has the added kick of tying in with the publicity and support of Channel 9 and Kings. What a day! We collected 18,870 pounds of food and $2900. What proves that PTF rocks – in this regard and many others is looking at the news release from Channel 9 below. You can see that PTF was second in collections in the entire state! The only site that reported greater numbers was the main hub at Channel 9 news. Darn good results for an all volunteer Task Force!

    While we are immensely grateful for the support of King Soopers over the years, we would be remiss if we didn’t also mention the tremendous support we receive from WalMart and Safeway. PTF has conducted this food drive every month for 10 consecutive years now. We have never missed a month. And our store partners have been right there with us every step of the way. In addition, they all have supported other efforts and/or made additional contributions to PTF over the years.

    We all do this because we care, we’re committed and we’re determined. Regardless, we can’t do it alone. What a beautiful blessing that we also have such wonderful partners in our community to help those who need us so desperately. Thank you to everyone who works so hard, in various capacities and from various businesses, groups, schools and churches to help PTF thrive.  9Cares Colorado Shares summer drive nets 41 tons of food, nearly $100,000

Denver, CO — Thousands of pounds of food and thousands of dollars in cash donations poured into locations across the front range last Saturday from thousands of Coloradans during the 2011 9Cares Colorado Shares summer food drive. 21 locations in eleven cities from Ft. Collins to Castle Rock combined to collect 82,716 pounds of food. As part of their ‘Bringing Hope to the Table’ campaign, King Soopers donated $80,000 to 9Cares, bringing this year’s cash total to $97,587, a 754% increase from 2010. 9Cares will donate the money collected to buy food and restock depleted shelves at more than 125 local food banks distributed through FoodWorks Colorado.

   In addition to Saturday’s collection totals, 9Cares Colorado Shares used $100,000 in viewer contributions collected in last fall’s 9Cares Colorado Shares drive to purchase even more food for local food banks.

   The inaugural ‘9Cares Road Trip’ in cooperation with Goodwill proved to be a rousing success. During the 9NEWS morning newscasts in the week leading up to Saturday’s drive, 9NEWS anchor and business reporter Gregg Moss visited a number of local companies, collecting an additional 12,000 pounds of food for 9Cares.

   9NEWS President and General Manager Mark Cornetta said, “9NEWS food drives serve a vital role in making our community better by helping those in need. We are fortunate to serve such a great viewing area with viewers who truly care about their neighbors.”

   For those who were unable to participate in the 9Cares Colorado Shares summer drive, contributions can still be made at participating front range King Soopers locations or online at Giveo.com.
